NAOMI MATSUNAGA

Naomi Matsunaga holds a Master of Arts in Music from Northeastern Illinois University, where she served as Graduate Assistant. She studied oboe with Takahisa Shinmatsu, Ray Still, and J. Ricardo Castaneda. She has appeared in the Northwest Indiana Symphony, Illinois Symphony and Illinois Philharmonic Orchestras. In February 2011, she was invited to host her oboe solo recital at the Official Residence of the Consul General of Japan in Chicago.

 

Naomi was the oboe instructor at Benet Academy High School in Lisle, IL from 2004 to 2006. In addition to teaching at the Midwest Conservatory of Music, she is currently the oboe instructor at Schaumburg High School and Hoffman Estates High School. Naomi frequently offers oboe studio classes and reed making classes at Midwest Conservatory.

 

Naomi also holds a Piano Pedagogy Certificate from Elmhurst University, where she studied the piano under the direction of Professor Linda Camp.
