OUR MISSION
The vision of the Midwest Conservatory of Music is to provide opportunities for quality music education and enrichment in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago by offering private music lessons and performance opportunities for students of all ages who dream of a life filled with music.
At Midwest Conservatory, we believe that each student has the potential to blossom into the musician they are aiming to become. This potential is nurtured through close attention to the detail of each student’s goals and development as a musician. We are sensitive to and greatly value each student’s purpose for studying music, and we base lesson plans on these purposes: whether it is help with playing in a school orchestra, eventually attending music school/university, or just learning to play your favorites for personal enrichment. Whatever your purpose for studying music, all are welcome!
OUR ACTIVITIES
We host a unique variety of student events to promote not just individual achievements, but community outreach as well, in order to introduce new students to the wonders of music-making. Numerous performance opportunities throughout the year enable our students to inspire future musicians.
OUR ORCHESTRA
In addition to these events, the Midwest Conservatory of Music is home to the
Midwest Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), a top-ranking Youth and Community Orchestra program.
Under the direction of MCM's Director Emeritus, Taka Matsunaga, the orchestra hosts 4 concerts per year at the Hemmens Cultural Center, including the MCCC Showcase Concert. The orchestra has performed at Carnegie Hall and Chicago Symphony Center, and tours internationally every 2 years.
